Extending knowledge by developing a ‘slow approach’ to action research

چکیده

This paper is an extension of a conversation begun at the CARN2020 Conference. It outlines how accelerated, rushed lifestyle impacts negatively on almost every aspect life. In education, fast-paced life reflected in trend towards incessant production. lives university lecturers, teacher-educators, students and teacher-researchers, unrelenting demand for research output performance reports. mirrored lack time thoughtful, critical reflection quality scholarship professional agency. also has negative implications health well-being. The contrary motion ‘slow’ movement formulates sustainable alternative to onslaught speed. manifests itself slow initiatives which are percolating into fields education also. first section this explains why development ‘slow approach’ action might be sought. second approach envisaged practical manner. ideas around (i) personal awareness, (ii) intellectual awareness (iii) relational as suggested approaches research.
